I had to take a quick trip home this weekend, and while I wasn't attending any major events, I knew I wouldn't just be sitting in my basement for two days. However, I didn't feel like taking the extra time to plan out any classy ensembles. Instead I packed a basic outfit (pants, shoes, jacket, jewelry) that I could mix with two t-shirts and scarves. It was the most low-key packing experience I've ever had.All my basic pieces were neutral, primarily black. My jewelry and hair clip were yellows while my shirts and scarves were also brightly colored. I knew I needed some happy color in my life. It has been raining for the past week, and without color I might have thrown myself from a moving vehicle. In the absence of sunshine, color is a passable and necessary substitution.
